Julie specialises in the creative arts. From a young age Julie had a passion and interest in art; she embraced all mediums of art and was eager to learn. Art lessons at secondary school showed her natural flare and eye for colour and imagination. During this time, she won a scholarship which included spending a week in Constable Country. Here Julie learnt how to paint scenic pictures, using water colours, and was talented enough to sell one of her paintings. Not content in winning one competition at this young age, she won a second, which resulted in her producing art work for a local conservation site.
After sitting and passing her art A level, she left school to take a course in graphic design. During Julie’s adult life, art has always been a part of all she has done; but after having her two children she really embraced it. “I worked as a painter for Hazle Ceramics for a year, it was an amazing experience. I had never painted on clay before and was introduced to a whole different painting technique.”
Bringing us up-to-date, Julie has been working at the same school for the last 9 years. She resources, supports and teaches art to an array of different age groups and also has an influence on the art curriculum.
